Managed IT services
A bundle of ongoing IT work sold for a flat recurring fee, typically covering help desk, monitoring, patching and account administration.
A conventional managed services agreement bundles roughly a dozen things: help desk, monitoring, patching, endpoint security, backup, on-site attendance, after-hours cover, an account manager and quarterly reviews. It is priced as one number per seat because unbundling invites the obvious question.
Which of those does a nine-person company on laptops actually consume? Help desk, patching and account administration. The rest is either insurance against something that has not happened or coverage for hours nobody uses.
That gap is the whole reason a cheaper tier can exist. Sell the three that get used, publish a price for each of the rest, and the number lands at the bottom of the market range instead of the middle of it, without anything being taken away that the customer was actually using.
What it costs
$100 to $200 per user per month for a full agreement in 2026. A deliberately narrower plan covering chat support, remote sessions and account admin sits at the bottom of that range; ours is priced the moment you give us a headcount.
Related questions
What is included in managed IT services?
At minimum a help desk, patch management and account administration. Most agreements add monitoring, endpoint security and backup, and larger ones add on-site attendance and after-hours cover.
Are managed IT services worth it for a small business?
It depends entirely on the price against the hours you currently lose. At $150 a seat a nine-person company is looking at $16,000 a year, which is why most decline. At the bottom of the range, with the unused parts of the agreement stripped out, the arithmetic changes.
