Per-device IT pricing
Billing for each endpoint under management rather than each person, typically $50 to $150 per device per month.
Per-device pricing charges for every managed endpoint: laptops, desktops, servers, and sometimes phones and tablets. It was the standard model when one employee had one computer, and it survives largely because the headline number looks smaller.
The arithmetic is what matters. Count the devices you actually have, including the phones, and multiply. Offices routinely find their real endpoint count is two to three times headcount, which turns a $50 per-device quote into more than a $150 per-user one.
It is still the right model in a few cases, mainly where there are far more people than machines, such as shift work on shared terminals.
What it costs
$50 to $150 per device per month. Multiply by your true device count before comparing it to a per-user quote.

How do I compare a per-device quote to a per-user quote?
Count every device that would be managed, phones and tablets included, and multiply by the per-device rate. Compare that monthly total to headcount times the per-user rate. The gap is usually larger than people expect.
